Gabrielle Giffords: 1st picture of gunshot congresswoman


An American Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords has released the first photos of herself since she was gunshot in the head in January.

Both the images showed on her Facebook page. Ms Giffords, 41, was critically harmed during a shooting spree by a gunman in Tucson, Arizona, that executed six people and injured 13 further. She is being treated at a clinic in Houston, Texas. According to the Doctors she has been getting better well.
In an Interview with the Arizona Republic published on Thursday, Ms Giffords' Chief of Staff Pia Carusone said she still had only limited talking ability.
But Ms Carusone told the Associated Press news agency on Saturday that she could be discharged from the cure clinic within the next few weeks.
In one of the pictures released on Sunday, Ms Giffords is smiling at the camera, while in other she is sitting with a woman. Both pictures were taken on 17 May, the associating text says.
Many admirers left messages on the page, including: "Gabby, you look amazing! Keep up the fight to acquire healthy."
The shooting happened on 8 January near Tucson, Arizona, outside a supermarket where Ms Giffords was getting together constituents.
Since then, the only time the people has been able to obtain a sight of her was in April, when video recordings appeared her from a distance boarding a plane to watch her husband, space shuttle astronaut Mark Kelly, launch into space in Florida.
A suspect, Jared Lee Loughner, has been detained and blamed of carrying out the shooting. He has pleaded not at fault.
