‘Human Centipede’ sequel banned in U.K.

(CBS) It takes a lot for a film to get banned in the United Kingdom, so congratulations, director Tom Six!

You're in the elite company of Tod Browning's "Freaks" and Stanley Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange" (those films were eventually released in the U.K.) and about a dozen other motion pictures.

"The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence)" has been denied an 18 certificate (roughly the British version of an NC-17) by the British Board of Film Classification "for fears it poses a 'real risk' to cinemagoers," reports The Guardian.

The lack of certification means the film is effectively banned.

As you probably guessed from the title, the movie is a sequel to "The Human Centipede." It's about a mad doctor who sews a couple of Americans to a Japanese tourist in a most gruesome way.
It will be released sometime in the United States in 2011. For all you Brits vacationing in the United States, you have a chance to see here what is described by the BBFC this way:
"There is little attempt to portray any of the victims in the film as anything other than objects to be brutalized, degraded and mutilated for the amusement and arousal of the central character, as well as for the pleasure of the audience."

The first film is currently available in the U.S. on DVD and Blu-Ray.
