Plot

Will Rodman (James Franco) was working on a cure for Alzheimer's by testing the cure on apes. Caesar was the first test subject to begin with, but then instead, it has genetically modified his way of thinking to create a new evolution of his kind with human intelligence. Caesar was learning well, but human authority continues to test him and contain him. He eventually proves smart enough to break free from his cage and release the cure among other apes. War breaks out between humans and apes. Rodman may be the only one able to stop them before the apes succeed with their revolution.

It is a reboot of the Planet of the Apes series that will act as a foundation with an origin story for a new film series.
