Recovered: Heather Mills appears to be on the mend after he skiing incident

Heather Mills appeared to be back on form after picking up a shoulder injury last month.

The former wife of Beatles star Paul McCartney cut a dash as she sashayed through New York in a slinky, figure-hugging black dress.

She combined the strappy, low-cut number with a trilby hat and black wedge heels appearing to have no trouble whatsoever in carrying a shoulder bag despite last month's injury.

As she strolled along in the Big Apple with a female friend, Heather kept her head down sporting a large pair of sunglasses.

Heather's outfit certainly boosted her credentials in the fashion stakes, a perfect ensemble for summertime in the U.S. city.

In May this year her Paralympic skiing ambitions were dealt a blow when she shattered her shoulder on the slopes.

The former glamour model spent some time recovering at her Brighton home after flying back from Austria, where she had been training.

In early May Miss Mills was airlifted to hospital by helicopter in a rescue operation costing £2,400 after she hit a plastic pole which had frozen solid.

The 43-year-old had been working on a slalom after being offered a trial with the British Disabled Ski Team’s development squad for the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

But she was forced to take eight weeks off after her right shoulder blade broke in several places.

Her arm was strapped up and she has been told it must be kept still for ‘a few weeks’.

Hospital spokesman Alfred Fast told Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung that 'no surgery was necessary'.
