Warner Bros. is reporting that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II grabbed $92.1 million on Friday in the US after starting off with $43.5 million from midnight shows. That shatters the previous first day record of $72.7 million set by The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Deathly Hallows: Part II will easily top the The Dark Knight's opening weekend record of $158.4 million, which equates to $173 million when adjusting for inflation.
The film's worldwide total is now $249.6 million.
