Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Split after Seven Years

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announced plans for divorce on Friday, saying that they were no longer together, according to the Associated Press. Lopez and Anthony were married for seven years and have twin children together.

The announcement comes as a shock for one of Hollywood’s most popular couples. The pair collaborated on various projects, including a 2006 film they both starred in, “El Cantante.” Lopez and Anthony also went on tour together during their marriage.
"We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters," the couple said in a joint statement, as quoted by Us Weekly. "It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."
The high profile couple had married in 2004 after several years of knowing each other. During the 1990s, the couple had dated briefly, according to Us Weekly. Lopez was briefly married twice before to Ojani Noa and Chris Judd. Prior to her marriage with Anthony, Lopez had a high-profile relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs as well as an engagement with Ben Affleck. Anthony broke off his marriage to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres before marrying Lopez.
3-year-old twins, Max and Emme, are Lopez’s first children. According to the Associated Press, Anthony had a child with Torres as well as another from a previous relationship.
In April, Lopez and Anthony announced a reality music show that they were scheduled to star in together, “Q'Viva! The Chosen,” with the help of “American Idol” creator, Simon Fuller. The couple planned to travel through different countries in search of the best Latin art performers in both dance and music. Given the divorce announcement, it is unclear whether the show will continue. According to the Associated Press, the show had no airdate.
Lopez made her debut as an “American Idol” judge during the 2011 season, where she was also a back-up dancer during a performance by Anthony on the show.
