Mubarak including his sons held over corruption charges


Egyptian Prosecutor general has ordered to arrest of former President Hosni Mubarak for 15 days on account of corruption charges. Mr. Hosni Mubarak 82, is admitted in hospital after suffering from heart problems. Egyptian media has said that his sons Alaa and Gamal were also being inquired and arrested for 15 days.

Mr. Mubaraks including higher ranked officials are blamed of misusing national funds and violating his authority for utilizing power against demonstrators during anti-government protests earlier this year.

The former president has said the accusations against him are baseless, and that he has the right to protect his status and that of his family. His remarks were televised on Sunday by the Al-Arabiya news TV channel. It was his first direct remarks to the public since national protests which enforced him to step down in February.

Egyptian armed forces and police pushed the protestors by using force from Cairo's Tahrir Square Tuesday conclusion a four day stay in. The security forces held many protestors as they ran away the area.

The protestors have forward the pressure on the existing military rulers to capture Mubark including his family members as well as his closed companions on the charging of corruption, embezzlement and other crimes.
This is an extra ordinary development of events in the Arab World. The investigators are attempting to send a clear cut message that Mubarak is not immune from investigation. There are many rumors here in Egypt that 82-years old former president denied to eat or drink for two days resulting of inquiring.
