Director Keith Allen says, Diana film 'not scandalous’

British documentary illegal Killing was the focal point of concentration for the media at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday.

Its directors say the film throws illumination on conditions closing the death of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997. But at an up and down media conference after its opening, director Keith Allen was constantly inquires to describe what new proof he thinks the film holds.

Allen opposed with proposals he should have made it obvious on screen that the film was projected by the businessman Mohamed Al Fayed, stating it would have hurdled the film's stream.

Mr. Al Fayed's spokesman, Conor Nolan, said the previous proprietor of Harrods had funded £2.5m in the documentary. Dodi son of Al Fayed, was also died in the crash as well as driver Henri Paul. The single survivor, Trevor Rees-Jones, does not mark in the film.

In its makeup, illegal Killing is similar to various documentaries seen on TV. Described by Allen, it is a combination of collection images, new interviews, graphics and reforms of views from the 2007 investigation in London. Only music by Dave Stewart presents a somewhat more cinematic sense. I didn't want to make a scandalous film and I don't believe it is a sensationalist film”

Allen said the makers primarily required financing from TV organizations in the Britain, including the BBC. When the venture was generally refused, they were delighted to agree funded from Mr. Al Fayed. Allen persisted Mr. Al Fayed had had no viewpoint contribution, while he shows in numerous series. At one point he is glimpse burning Harrods' former 'By Royal Appointment' signs, a short detachment from his son's severe in Surrey. The film is further about what occurred after the killing of the Princess and less anxious with plot theories about how it happened. It includes the utilization of shoots taken soon after the misfortune, though this forms only a small part of the story. Allen said the documentary had not been complicated to produce.

"It almost ended itself because of what was being exposed in the inquiry.I believed it was significant the public got to appreciate, in a forensic approach, what was experiencing.

"There's an old stating that the good kept coverts are on the abandons at the British Library. If you get all the information and put it into a sure form then two plus two begins to make four.

"I have utilized best possible available information, but I have put it in a definite way."

Allen said he expects the documentary will still be revealed in the UK, even if British lawyers have proposed that a several of editorial alterations would have to be done - and may marks at this year's London Film Festival.
