Honda plans Brio sedan by 2013,Here is render and info

Not for us in North America....

The Honda Brio hatchback was launched and got temporary suspended!!.Honda announce that Brio hatcback is the company’s lowcost and smallest car.Build for developing countries like Asean and India. The car is slot beneath Jazz/fit and the prices will be affordable to anyone. The car also have great economy and less emissions.

The car sale was kick off first in Thailand a month ago. Many have test drive a car and reveal that the car have good engine Performance,Easy handling but speace and safety kit are limited.People also discussting that the car is over prices and too much cost saving.People dispraise rear window that cover by glass and question about safty,No rear Windshield wiper and lack of many things.

Last two week, Honda announced that it had to temporarily stop taking orders for the all-new Brio because of parts supply problems from Japan caused by the unfortunate incidents. No time frame release but insider source indicate that the car will be aviable agian next year.

Autoten only hope Honda will fix these disadvantages.

Many sources report that Honda is planing a sedan version of Brio in the next two year. The new sedans will join the existing five-door hatchback body.Autoten got render from the ophilus chin reveal a Brio with a boot.Look like a perfect proportion, better than others add boot job like Swift and Swift dzire(Sedan verion of Swift).Unfortunately is too early for autoten to say that the sedan will get makeover at rear or get entirely new skin. But our opinion is not bad if honda done like our render.

The car should have around 4.1 meter long. For powerpack,is borrow 4 cylinder 1.2 liter 90 hp at 6000 RMP and 110 Nm at 4800 RMP with 5 speed manual and CVT gear box.

The car will goes on sale around 2013

Paultan.org: Honda’s A-segment BRIO set for March 2011 production

Not for North America....
This is the Honda BRIO prototype, which is the near production version of the company’s New Small Concept that was shown earlier this year in India. It is an A-segment vehicle that’s one class smaller than the Jazz and City. Rivals will include the Suzuki Alto, Hyundai i10 and Kia Picanto, among other small cars.

The BRIO measures 3,610 mm long, 1,680 mm wide and 1,475 mm tall. That’s 45 mm longer, 85 mm wider, but 65 mm lower than a Hyundai i10. Honda did not reveal what the wheelbase is, or what engine powers the BRIO, though we’re guessing a 1.2L SOHC engine from the same family as the one in the Jazz/City. Honda needs it to achieve an average fuel consumption of less than 5 litres per 100 km (or 20 km/l) on the ECE R101 mode measurement cycle to meet Thai eco car requirements.

Thai production will begin in March 2011. India will start making the Brio in 2011 as well, with 80% local content. Although the BRIO was designed primarily for the Thai and Indian market, Honda is considering export from Thailand to the region around it, so there’s a possibility that Honda Malaysia could take up this model as an entry level to the range, something like “my first Honda”.

In Thailand, Honda targets to sell the BRIO at a starting price of approximately 400,000 baht, which is the same price as a Proton Savvy thanks to the tax breaks it gets from the Thai eco car plan, while in India the car is supposed to go 500,000 rupees onwards. How much will you pay for a BRIO in Malaysia?

Honda India: 2011 Honda Brio City Car on Track

Japanese automaker Honda is rumored to plan the launch of a new entry-level hatchback in India next year. This follows the release of a concept car codenamed CV2 that appeared at the New Delhi Auto Show in early 2010.

The new small car that is set to conquer the Indian market is Brio, which means “funny small car.” This vehicle is likely to enter production next year for the Chinese, Indian, and Thailand markets.

Honda Brio will reportedly be smaller than the Honda Jazz.

The small car is expected to be powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine that currently propels the Jazz, a 5-speed manual and an automatic CVT transmission option. A de-tuned version of this unit is set for providing higher fuel economy and decrease production costs.

Also, the Brio could also come with a three-cylinder 900 cc powered engine variant. The new city car from Honda boasts a futuristic design with rear door handles fixed to the frame, as on the Chevrolet Beat.

The Brio, when launched, is expected to be priced at around Rs. 5 lakh (about US$10,250), making it one of the cheapest Honda cars in the country. It will come as a competitor for the Nissan Micra, Toyota Etios, Maruti Alto or Hyundai Santro.

However, no launch dates have been announced by the automaker, with rumours pointing to a possible such event next year. There are also speculations that Honda will launch the Brio first in Thailand in March 2011 and then roll it out in India during the second half of 2011. Toyota Etios is expected to reach showrooms by December 2010 or January 2011.
