Punish the Conferences

USC got stripped of a title, Ohio State's Jim Tressel quit, these are just the latest stories of minor corruption in big time college football.

What pisses me off is that the conferences don't get punished. The Pac-10 got $17 million for USC's appearance in the Orange Bowl that year. Why don't they have to surrender that money? If the National Title was ill-gotten, wasn't the bid to the title game?

You might ask me why I'd want to punish U-Washington for something that happened at USC. But why does some teammate of Reggie Bush get punished for what Bush did? For how many of Bush's teammates was that achievement the pinnacle of their life? Bush gets his NFL salary, his NFL endorsements, but now his former teammates have "vacated" their title. What the hell does Bush care about Wikipedia listing USC's title as vacated?

Punish the conferences for violations like this. Then the conferences will actually try to police their own schools. And the Pac-10 benefited from Bush's presence just as much as USC did. Why should the NCAA have to watch all 120 programs? How come we never hear about the BigTen uncovering some scandal within their own conference? Because they're not looking. Why would they look?

All the power in college football is held by the conferences. The conferences concocted the BCS, not the NCAA. The conferences get all the money and decide where it goes. They get rewarded for their teams' successes, so why not also hold them responsible for their violations?

USC Stripped of 04 Title

The BCS stripped USC of its 2004 national title Monday.

The decision was not unexpected but required the NCAA's May 26 rejection of USC's appeal of sanctions stemming from the Reggie Bush investigation to move forward.

This is one of the stupidest thing I have ever heard, I hate that the BCS just strips schools of Titles, awards, etc and we all have to pretend it didn't happen. Yes, they may have been playing with an impact player that may have been cheating, but you know what? It already happened.

If I were the BCS or NCAA I would leave whatever the school won up there, and then just paralyze the shit out of their future. Take away scholarships, post season bids and even their TV time in order to make sure to never violate the rules again.

And stripping a title away 7 years later does nothing really, I will always remember that USC won a championship and I will always remember that Reggie Bush won the Heisman. So... fuck off.

Melissa is a model/singer/Canadian who made her debut into the public eye as one of several girls competing to be Danity Kane, then one of several girls competing to be the new Pussy Cat Doll on the WB. Now, Melissa is in an Old Navy commercial that has everyone talking.

The newest Old Navy commercial, which kicks off the Gap-owned chain’s latest ad campaign, features a song called “Super C-U-T-E” by two guys and a girl going by the group name Audio Threadz. And lead singer Melissa Molinaro looks an awful lot like a certain E! star.

“Breaking News!! @CBSNEWS reports that Old Navy’s Super CUTE star looks like @kimkardashian. #LOL. What do you think?”
