A spokesman of Chinese government has said that the defense budget of China has been increased by 12.7% for the year of 2011.
Expenses will rise to 601.1bn Yuan US$ 91.5bn up from 532.1bn Yuan last year. Chinese defense budget has jumped up to double digit as compare to the last year.
The statement comes a day in advance of the yearly National People's Congress, in which the Communist Party will outline its five-year plan. China has been boosting up its armed power, due to tense within the different countries in the region.
Relations have been tensed between China and Japan over uncertain isles in the South China Sea , where there are huge possible reserves of oil and gas.
Duncan Innes-Kerr of the Economist Intelligence Unit in Beijing has said that there is no any other option about the truth that Chinese military is obtaining additional power. He added "Its capability moving forward to overcome enemy is obviously enhancing. However, experts say there is a little possibility of a military clash over disputed areas in the region. He also said territorial claims are on the second position as compare to economic growth and stability.
Other countries of this region are also upgrading their military power. Last week, India has already enhanced its annual defense budget from 4% in 2010 to 11.6% this year.
